U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, Mayor Michelle Wu, and Former Mayor Kim Janey Endorse Shannon Liss-Riordan for Attorney General

BOSTON, MA – Today, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, Mayor Michelle Wu, and Former Mayor Kim Janey officially endorsed Shannon Liss-Riordan for Attorney General. Their endorsements come on the first day of early vote in Massachusetts.

“Shannon Liss-Riordan is the progressive champion Massachusetts needs as our next Attorney General. I know, firsthand, how Shannon fights back and wins against the corporations and special interests that take advantage of working families,” said U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren. “She is the best qualified lawyer in this race to stand up for the people of Massachusetts who most need a champion. I’m proud to endorse Shannon Liss-Riordan for Attorney General, and I look forward to continuing to fight side by side with her to deliver results for Massachusetts families.”

“Shannon has the track record of winning landmark victories on behalf of our communities, and the innovative compassion to shape the law to expand who it can protect,” said Boston Mayor Michelle Wu. “I am proud to endorse Shannon for Attorney General because she will deliver more than just a mission – she will deliver on plans that will improve the lives of working families throughout Boston and the Commonwealth.”

“We need an Attorney General who will step into the office on Day One ready to tackle complex precedents and a multitude of challenges, including racial equity, housing rights, and growing climate change. Shannon is that Attorney General,” said Former Mayor Kim Janey. “Like Shannon, I also got my start in public service working in community organizing, and I see the value in having an Attorney General who would ensure that the office is accessible to all. She would be a great addition to the slate of Massachusetts leaders who are in the rooms fighting for change.

“I am humbled to have received the endorsements of three monumental leaders who are championing our state through tough times in our democracy, both locally and federally. This is exactly what I hope to do as your next Attorney General,” said Shannon Liss-Riordan. “As our campaign trail grows in momentum, I am excited to have these elected officials’ support as early voting ramps up in Massachusetts.”
