According to an age bias lawsuit filed by Boston labor lawyer Shannon Liss-Riordan, former top executives at IBM insulted older employees — calling them “dinobabies” and “a dated maternal workforce” — while coveting younger ones in internal communications over the past decade, according to a document unsealed by a federal judge late last week. Several emails from these executives have been leaked, which are directly in contrast with IBM’s values. “The idea that someone thought it was acceptable to use those terms and talk about it that way is mind-boggling,” says Liss-Riordan, who is seeking to certify the lawsuit as a class action.
